Our carbon calculator shines at the 2023 NAA awards

Singlepoint comes highly commended at the 2023 NAA awards

The Northern Automotive Alliance Business Awards, celebrated annually, act as a prestigious platform for honouring innovation and accomplishments within the Northern automotive sector. Representing a diverse community of over 90 member companies from across the North of England, the NAA stands as a pillar of support for the northern automotive industry and the wider supply chain.

This year, our innovative Carbon Calculator was met with praise, receiving high commendation in the Design & Innovation Award category, sponsored by McLaren Automotive. This award recognises technical design and innovation in both products and processes, with a strong emphasis on positive environmental impact, proven results and the uniqueness of the solutions introduced.

Backed by a prestigious Innovate UK grant, our part-level carbon calculator is a pivotal innovation in addressing a significant gap in green supply chain management, offering a comprehensive insight into the carbon weight of individual components and parts. Seamlessly integrated within Singlepoint, the calculator will help in assessing an organisation’s carbon footprint at various levels, including part, family of parts, work-centre, factory, and supply chain level.

It will aid manufacturers in pinpointing major emission sources and proposing alternatives for reductions. Additionally, the tool will provide in-depth comparisons against industry benchmarks and predictive analysis for forecasting carbon output during the initial stages of product development.

The judges lauded it as “an accessible tool with tremendous potential to champion industrial decarbonisation across the manufacturing sector.”

“Receiving such recognition from the NAA is a true testament to the dedication and innovation our team embodies. This commendation not only highlights the potential of our carbon calculator but also reinforces our commitment to contributing meaningfully to meeting the Net Zero challenge and creating a greener future.”

Horizons: From barely visible to ISO 9001 audit-ready

Horizons: From barely visible to ISO 9001 audit-ready

Horizons Incorporated had a document control system, but adoption never spread beyond the core quality team. At audit the answer was technically yes; in practice, most of the workforce did not know it existed. After evaluating six vendors, Horizons chose Singlepoint for its concurrent user licensing, visual navigation, and cross-module traceability. A back-end migration from Waypoint kept implementation to weeks, not months. The result: whole-workforce access without per-seat cost, a complete corrective action audit trail, and a first surveillance audit that impressed an examiner the team had never met. Adoption itself now serves as a live quality signal.

Mentholatum: audit-ready under FDA scrutiny

The Mentholatum Company, a US OTC and consumer health manufacturer regulated under cGMP and 21 CFR Part 11, was managing quality documentation on local servers and network drives, with no single system of record, no reliable audit trail, and real exposure to ransomware. After a recommendation from its UK affiliate, Mentholatum deployed Singlepoint for document control across its Orchard Park and Horsham sites. A 2026 cloud migration removed dedicated server hosting and saved over $18,000 a year, while delivering 24/7 access for a three-shift operation. Every operator can now pull up a current, controlled SOP the moment an auditor asks.
