The challenge
Alan Baker, IT Manager & DPO at Faltec Europe Ltd, has been instrumental in driving the company’s digital transformation over the past decade.
Initially, Faltec Europe Ltd relied on multiple disparate systems to manage critical business functions such as localised Access Databases, various document storage systems, and calibration processes. However, these systems lacked efficiency and cohesion, making it challenging to retrieve information and ensure compliance.
A key challenge was navigating the transition to new solutions while maintaining continuity in day-to-day operations. Many employees were accustomed to existing processes, requiring a structured change management approach to facilitate adoption. At the same time, outdated legacy systems, including a calibration management tool still running on an unsupported Windows XP machine, posed significant risks to the business.
To modernise operations and improve efficiency, Faltec Europe Ltd needed a solution that not only centralised data management but also integrated seamlessly with its existing Infor ERP system, reducing manual workloads and enhancing overall productivity.
Our solution
Faltec Europe Ltd first encountered Singlepoint when they upgraded their previous Document Management system. Recognising the need for modern, centralised solutions, the team engaged with Singlepoint to assess its capabilities and how it could support the migration of its outdated and unsupported calibration management system as part of its broader digital transformation efforts.
To modernise Faltec Europe Ltd’s operations, we worked closely with Alan and his team to incrementally expand their use of Singlepoint. The transformation began with the migration of their document management processes onto the platform, followed by the introduction of Calibration management and, eliminating the risks associated with legacy software and scattered information storage.
“We have always had multiple different systems with 3, 4 or even 5 different places for finding information” Alan Baker
By consolidating document management within Singlepoint, Faltec Europe Ltd aimed to ensure that critical design notes, process charts, drawings, and other essential documentation were all housed in a single, easily accessible location.
“One of the key objectives for this year is to leverage additional modules within Singlepoint and its integration capabilities to create a centralised hub. This will enable seamless access to all relevant information for each part, including design notes, technical drawings, process charts, setting sheets, gauge instructions and documentation, ensuring that everything is stored and easily accessible within Singlepoint” Alan Baker
As the success of this implementation became evident, internal confidence in the platform grew. Over time, the company recognised opportunities to further streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
A key focus area was the integration of Singlepoint with Faltec Europe Ltd’s Infor ERP system. Historically, employees had to manually retrieve and input data across multiple platforms, creating inefficiencies and increasing the risk of errors. By linking Singlepoint with Faltec’s existing ERP, the company aimed to centralise data management, ensuring that all departments could access real-time, accurate information without duplication of effort.
The integration project involved mapping out key data flows, enabling Singlepoint to pull relevant information from the ERP while also allowing ERP users to seamlessly access Singlepoint’s documentation and process management tools. This bidirectional data exchange reduced administrative overhead and improved visibility across business functions.
The Results
Faltec Europe Ltd’s longstanding relationship with Singlepoint has provided a structured and effective approach to digital transformation. By adopting Singlepoint incrementally, the company has been able to modernise its processes without disrupting daily operations, ensuring each stage of implementation delivers measurable benefits.
One of the most significant areas of impact has been compliance and auditing. Singlepoint is now an essential tool in Faltec Europe Ltd’s IATF auditing process, centralising compliance documentation and ensuring that necessary approvals and changes are tracked efficiently.
“Singlepoint plays a key role in our IATF audits. The quality team relies on it to manage documentation, and as we approach audit periods, it ensures that all approvals and changes are easily accessible and up to date.” Alan Baker
With increasing internal buy-in, Faltec Europe Ltd is expanding its use of Singlepoint to integrate more functions across the business. This shift is driving greater efficiency, improving compliance management, and strengthening collaboration between teams.
Alan Baker summarised the platform’s impact:
“It does sound a bit cheesy, but Singlepoint has become our single source of truth, bringing everything together in one place and making it easier for teams to access the information they need when they need it.”
